Diwali 2026
दीपावली
Date:
Diwali 2026 falls on Sunday, November 8, on Kartik Amavasya. The five days run from Dhanteras (Friday, November 6) to Bhai Dooj (Wednesday, November 11), with Govardhan Puja on November 10. Check your local panchang for the exact Lakshmi Puja muhurat in your city.
A simple order for the evening puja: begin with Ganesh (Jai Ganesh Deva), then Lakshmi (Om Jai Lakshmi Mata and the Lakshmi mantra), and close with Om Jai Jagdish Hare. Ram Raksha Stotram and the Hanuman Chalisa are also widely recited on this night of Shri Ram’s return to Ayodhya.
For Sikhs the same day is Bandi Chhor Divas, when Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji was released from Gwalior Fort together with 52 kings.
